You modify camcorder memory values entirely at your own risk! |

Click on the following link for
information on how to update the control system on first
edition Sony Digital-8 camcorders. This will link
directly to the appropriate page on Martin Smola's web
site. http://ns.sps.volyne.cz/set1394/anin/code.html The page should open in a new window. To return to this page, simply close the new window. Note that the method for updating the checksum is not the same as that for updating the checksum on second edition Sony D-8 camcorders as detailed elsewhere on this site.. Video Pages has not had the opportunity to experiment with a first edition Sony D-8 camcorder, so we cannot verify that all the codes will work with all the models. Indeed, in respect of the higher models in the range, it is quite possible that some of the codes are superfluous, because the facilities which they purport to enable are already present as part of the camcorder's original specification (DV-in, for example). Mr. Smola uses the following bit assignments: (msb) H4, H3, H2, H1 L4, L3, L2, L1 (lsb) (high nibble) (low nibble) Whereas one might normally expect to see: (msb) b7, b6, b5, b4 b3, b2, b1, b0 (lsb) (high nibble) (low nibble) Page last updated: 30 January, 2005 |
